The Norwegian players' union NISO has announced the appointment of Miss Silje Johannessen as the NISO’s new Chief Executive. Miss Johannessen, 27, who studied Law at the University of Oslo, will take over the NISO's reigns on 1 November.

FIFPro board member Morgan Andersen has accepted the position of general manager of the Norwegian Premier Division club FC Lyn Oslo. Andersen will start his new job in December 2003. As a result of this new step in his career Andersen will resign as long-serving chairman of the Norwegian players’ organisation NISO and as member of the FIFPro board.

FIFA has made two important amendments in the interpretation of art. 5.2 of the FIFA Regulations for Status and Transfer of Players. FIFA hopes that these adjustments will bring the flexibility that all parties have been seeking and that they will alleviate the implications of this particular rule. The amendment was sent by Jérôme Champagne, Deputy General Secretary of FIFA, to FIFPro and to all national associations of FIFA.

Players with dual nationality will now be able to play international football for two countries after the Fifa congress in Qatar gave unanimous approval to a new statute. The move means that young players who have turned out for one country can change later to the other country on their passport, provided they have not appeared in a full senior international and they hold dual nationality.
