NISO announces appointment of Chief Executive Silje Johannessen

The Norwegian players' union NISO has announced the appointment of Miss Silje Johannessen as the NISO’s new Chief Executive. Miss Johannessen, 27, who studied Law at the University of Oslo, will take over the NISO's reigns on 1 November.

Silje Johannessen has been working in NISO since February 2001 as legal practitioner. Johannessen is a board member of Norwegian Sports law Association and an arbitrator in Norwegian football arbitration tribunal.

Besides working in NISO, Silje Johannessen has been associated a law firm in Oslo. Earlier she has had an academic position at University of Oslo and has been working in The Confederation of Norwegian Business and Industry, the law firm Wiersholm, Mellbye & Bech and had in 2001 a engagement in Norwegian Ministry of Transport to make a report.

Johannessen published in 2002 a book about trademarks and domain name on Internet.

Miss Johannessen’s appointment follows the resignation of long-serving NISO Chief Executive Morgan Andersen, who has accepted the position of general manager of the Norwegian Premier Division club FC Lyn Oslo.
